Permanent Housing Programs

- MESI has received $712,591 from US Department of Housing and Urban Development to implement two Permanent Supportive Housing Programs.
- Fresh Start Housing Program will offer 12 one-bedroom apartments to homeless individuals with mental illness.
- Transition In Place Program will offer 12 apartments to homeless families with children.
- MESI will master lease and subsidize the rent of the apartments, making them accessible and affordable to homeless individuals and families.
- MESI and other partners like Pawnee Mental Health will provide on-site supportive services to ensure long-term housing stability.
- These programs are based on an award winning housing model implemented in Leavenworth, KS.

The Program will begin this Spring! MESI is looking for landlords to participate in the programs. There are some great incentives for landlords, including two-year renewable contracts, property management, and much more.

You Can Help Make Housing Affordable!!

The Manhattan Emergency Shelter has received two HUD grants to help make rentals more affordable. We need landlords to participate...we can offer two year contracts, some property management, and much more!
