Home Cooked Meal Program

The Caroline Peine Transitional shelter has a Home Cooked Meal Program.

Our Home Cooked Meal program is for groups of people who are willing to adopt a day of the month (say the 27th) and every month on that day bring a home cooked meal for 20 people to MESI for our guests. These groups can be large or small. There are several small group doing this, or whole church congregations. This is an excellent way for the members of your congregation to involved and meet the needs of MESI. Another good thing about this program is that it is very flexible, it is just a once-a-month commitment and can be delegated to people in a very flexible way - a small group could do it one month, a couple the next, a youth group the next; it is very flexible and could be turned into something fun with a little creativity.

The Home Cooked Meal Program is very important to us and to our guests. Although we do have a full size kitchen with food, it is good to be able to offer our guests an effortless, nutritious meal so that they can know that there are people that do truly care about them and want them to succeed in this troubled time of their life.

HOW TO:
Gather your friends, family, co-workers, teammates, etc.
Pick a day of the month (e.g. 27th)
Every 27th of the month bring a home cooked meal to the Caroline Peine Transitional Shelter at 5pm that can feed 20 people (The meal can also be brought in prior to five with heating instructions).
Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing people are well fed, because of your generosity.
